Holistic Birth
Debriefing
Has your birth left you feeling angry, hurt, like your power was taken from you - or like you weren’t seen, heard, or valued?
Are you carrying feelings of anxiety, grief, guilt, abandonment, or struggling to bond with your baby? Do you feel stuck, confused, or like something still isn’t sitting right - even if others tell you to “just be grateful”?
Healing from a traumatic or disappointing birth begins with being heard. Truly heard - with compassion, without judgement, and with space where your story matters.
Is This Space Right for You?
Maybe your birth was recent — or maybe it was years ago. Maybe it looked “fine” on paper, but inside, something broke. Or maybe you had a traumatic experience that everyone else brushed off, and you’re still waiting for someone to ask, Are you okay?
These sessions are for you if:
Feel overwhelmed, hurt, or unsettled by what happened in birth
You keep replaying parts of your birth and wondering “why?”
You feel alone with your experience — like no one really gets it
Feel dismissed by others who say “at least the baby is healthy”
You want to begin healing, but don’t know where to start
You want to talk to someone who truly understands birth, the system, and trauma, but who is not a part of the hospital system
Whether you had an emergency birth, an induction that spiralled, a birth that felt violating or just… deeply disappointing - your story is valid. And it deserves space.
Debriefing with a trained professional can help to address and resolve these feelings - you don’t have to live with them and you can find healing from your experience.
There is no right time to debrief your birth. While some studies show that early debriefing can help to reduce post-trauma symptoms, the right time is when you are ready and when it feels safe in your body. It is never too early and it is never too late.
So how does birth debriefing work?
The Healing Birth package is split into three separate appointments:
Session One – Your Story, in Your Words (90 minutes)
This first session is about safety, trust, and connection. We’ll begin where you are. You can share as much or as little as feels okay. There’s no pressure to remember everything or make sense of it straight away. I’ll listen carefully and with compassion, helping to gently hold the pieces that may feel too heavy or confusing to carry alone.
We also start to explore the “why” beneath the experience. Why it felt the way it did. Why certain moments still linger. Together, we’ll look at factors like communication, consent, medical events, power dynamics, or trauma history that may have shaped your birth story. We map it gently - not to relive it, but to help you begin to make sense of it in a way that honours your truth.
This is often the session where women begin to feel validation and clarity: “Oh… that’s why I responded that way. It wasn’t me. It was what happened to me.”
Session Two - Timeline Reset (90 minutes)
In this session, we use a gentle subconscious process called Timeline Reset to help you release the emotional weight that may still be sitting beneath the surface.
This approach takes you into a calm, focused state where we can access the subconscious mind - where intense emotions like anger, sadness, fear, hurt, guilt, and shame are often held after a traumatic event. The beauty of this process is that you don’t need to relive or retell the trauma - you are guided safely and respectfully to process what’s ready to be released.
Many women describe feeling lighter, calmer, and more confident afterwards, as if they’ve made space inside themselves to begin truly healing.
We’ll also finish with personalised affirmations to help anchor the shifts and support your continued integration.
This session is optional, but highly recommended to support and gently accelerate your healing.
Integration Chat (30 minutes)
The final session is about finding resolution - not “closure,” but integration. We’ll talk about how to carry your story with more compassion. This might include grounding techniques, ways to process lingering emotions, or practical steps for future pregnancies, parenting, or advocacy.
We’ll also discuss what ongoing healing might look like, including whether you’d like to explore EMDR (coming soon), individual counselling, or continued birth support work.
There’s no expectation to be “fixed.” This is about feeling more whole.

Financial Considerations
If you are experiencing financial hardship, please message me. I understand that finances can be a barrier to receiving the support you need, and I have options available to assist you. I will also have some Medicare rebate available soon.
Why work with me?
I’ve both worked with mothers and babies for the last 14 years as a midwife and nurse, and I’ve also birthed in the system. I’ve seen and experienced first hand how little support there is for new mothers (i.e. fck all) and I really, desperately want to see this change - especially when it comes to birth trauma.
I provide a safe, validating and judgement-free space for you to be able to share whatever is on your heart from this experience so you feel seen and heard.
These sessions are led by you, so we can talk about anything you like - if you feel like your birth or matrescence experience was a rough awakening experience or you are having challenges with your mother-in-law (for example!), we can go there in your session.
Unsure if birth debriefing is right for you?
Lets chat about it.
If you are unsure if we are the right fit for each other or want to chat about it before committing to a booking - please feel free to book in an obligation-free chat below. Not every practitioner will be right for you - and as you are the one sharing a precious part of yourself you have the right to be choosy about who you are sharing it with!
Please note - I am not a psychologist or a qualified counsellor and thus cannot diagnose or treat trauma-related disorders. I am a qualified, trauma-informed Credentialed Mental Health Nurse and ex-midwife with 14 years of experience in nursing. I have a deep understanding of the birthing process and the hospital system and with that I can offer unique insights into your birth trauma.
